Texas Tech wide receiver Jarrett Hicks has regained his eligibilty and will be allowed to play this season, the NCAA announced today.
The NCAA membership subcommittee granted a progress-toward-degree waiver for Hicks, a senior from Sharpstown.
“We’re happy this thing is over and now we can continue to concentrate on Southeastern Louisiana,” Texas Tech coach Mike Leach said. “We’re looking forward to getting Jarrett back on the field and letting him continue his track toward graduation
Hicks missed the first three games of the season while awaiting a decision from the NCAA.
Hicks is the school’s all-time touchdown receptions leader (28) and has 173 career receptions and 2,525 receiving yards in 36 games.
Texas Tech (2-1) plays Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday in Lubbock.
