I always just felt sorry for them. One year Merkel scheduled us (Wylie) as their homecoming. DOH!! ;)

Only if they pick our QB for Homecoming Queen....:D

I think this tendency has fallen off a bit. I think most coaches are hard pressed to get their schedules filled ahead of time and like to keep their teams "battle hardend" for district. Still, there are stilll a few coaches who do like to please the home crowd with an easy victory on homecoming, but I think they are in the minority now.

No push over for Snyder's homecoming. (Canyon)

We have Palacios for our Homecoming - don't think it was done by design, it just happened that way. I don't recall Cuero being anyone's Homecoming game in the last couple of years.. - I'd like to see how other schools do their "festivities"

Since we're on the subject of Homecoming -

Does your school "let" players be escorts for the Homecoming Court?

we went 0-10 in 2001 and we were like 4 teams homecomming we went 11-2 and to the third round that year. We were 3-1 on other teams homecomming. Trinty who sucked always played the weakest team they could find for homecoming and had a 20 year winning streak on homecoming. We beat them 60-0 lol

No, the girls' dads are the escorts. And our King is announced at the pep rally during school that day.

Sinton was Cuero's homecoming game in 2004? It was the 35-28 game. I don't think it is such a big deal. Sinton's homecoming festivities are done before kick off, so yes the players can be escorts. ;)

Sinton's homecoming game is next week vs. Robstown.

If it was the 35-28 game, it was 2004

we only do homecoming queen. the girls' dad escort them but we also have the court or whatever where you basiclly vote a guy and a girl to walk for each class as like class favorites or something and players do get to walk for that. We also have a Mr. and Mrs. Hornet that usually happens durning bball season

We used to be a frequent homecoming opponent in the 70's.

Silsbee decided a few years ago to schedule the best home game on their schedule as the homecoming game. The Tigers have hosted the likes of Jasper, Kirbyville, 4A Nederland, Beaumont Ozen, and this year they have WOS as their homecoming opponent. Makes for a very exciting homecoming experience, win or lose.

I believe Breckenridge just looks for a home game in late September to schedule. In the past, its worked out pretty well for the homecoming W, but this year will be tough, as we scheduled a talented Midland Christian team. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it in:(. That's just how it goes I guess.

I did make it to Bangs' (2a) homecoming last week. The home crowd got a good--albeit ugly-- game, but the Bucks spoiled it with a 7-0 victory.
