Is Bay City a bunch better than their first two outings? Is WO-S flat? Details.

WOS QB Bevil injured in the 1st quarter looking less than stellar the rest of the game

Bay City has their main RB playing for the first time this year as he was out with injuries the first two games. Bay City's defense looks much improved.

I sure didn't think this win would be that close. I thought WOS would win this one by about 40 since Bay City was routed in their first two outings. Any details to this game?

The Mustangs got hurt by penalties and turnovers... WOS had one touchdown run called back early on due to a holding penalty, then threw an interception on the Bay City 13 yd line during the first half.

Bay City could do nothing in the 2nd half, getting only 59 yds total offense.

The QB was hurt most of the game with a stinger. He kept telling th Coaches he was hurting. But he battled an improved 4A Bay City Team.

Hats off to the QB I agree that takes heart to get out there and play when your hurt. However, I don't see Bay City as improved getting routed their first two games.

It was tough for him and we got through it. Nice to have a week off this week to get some folks well. :)

Bay City looked much better tonight. They didn't turn it over as much as the previous 2 weeks.

Bay City/WO-S is our biggest rivalry game of the year and is ALWAYS hard fought. You can throw out the records. Last year, they were 0-2 and we were 2-0. We won 35-34 and still ended up undefeated until the semifinals. I'm very confident heading into district after this week's games. This one was closer than some expected, but I never put stock into this game since both teams are typically so hyped up.
Bevil's injury on the first drive killed our offensive clicking, but the defense stood in there and we had enough weapons to get the win. Bay City is not a bad team, but were apparently missing a key player in the first two games.
Still, we and Orangefield were the only winners in our district this week, though I had predicted AT LEAST four wins.

Regarding Bay City's previous games, they had a combined seven turnovers in those games, both of which were against very good teams. St. Pius is 3-0 with a combined score of 111-21, including wins over Columbia and Bay City. Waller beat a very good Nederland team last night and their RB has piled up 676 yards rushing and 11 TDs in three games.

true colors yet again. you are such a complete hater. bay city has improved since their first 2 games in which they got routed (just so you will no longer be "confused" about the implications of the "improved" moniker). there's no question that they have the athletes, they are just now putting it together - plus, they are making less mistakes. but keep your hopes up, BC will get it handed to them in due time ;)

Im not making excuses for the city cats, they played alot better tonight against a very good wos team.We only have 8 sr on the team and only 4 of them play.We have just 1 sr on offense, and only 3 on defense so we our going thru some growing pains. At this time it does not look like we will even make the playoffs but i know each game they will improve. So if your going to beat us up do it this year, cause next year we will be back on top again where we should always be.

gato,

You won't find any WO-S posters (none of the regulars, at least) who will talk down about Bay City. We respect their football program and always expect a tough fight from them. Our matchup with your school is one we look forward to every year. It's a good test for both schools. Good luck the rest of the way.

Stifle yourself, I had WOS picked big time in this game. I was just surprised at how close they played them. Dang I am telling you, you really can't say one dern thing about WOS. Some of their posters are good folks but some like this SuusJudex guy....Whew!

I see WOS all over Bay City in this one. Bay City is 0-2 and just not as good as in years past. They were beaten 42-0 by St. Pius and also beaten 54-20 by Waller. I see WOS having no problems with these guys. Anyones thoughts?
