Something rare in college football

There was something that I saw today which I have not seen in a very long time. Virginia Tech made it down to the Duke 18 yard line and didn't punch it in after being up 36-0. They even had a delay of game penalty on them. They took a knee and the game ended. Most of the time colleges try to run it up as high as they can go. Pretty classy act by VT.

Maybe in highschool but not college football. They are so concerned with the BCS standings that they will beat you 100-0 if they can. Sadly enough some in highschool will run it up also.

the "running it up" thing gets discussd all the time, especially after an 84-10 game .... most of the time "running it up" is percieved if a team doesnt just kneel on the ball, and thats unfair to the teams with the big scores.

I wasn't referring to that game. This was just something I saw today watching college ball. I think for the most part highschool teams show mercy on other teams. Every once in a while you get a coach in there who acts a fool and tries to embarrass kids. However, colleges are nortorious for this. It was just refreshing to see VT do it.
