Justin Johnson is apparently not playing tonight. I know he was shaken up in the first game, but he came back and played well against Tatum. I hope he's all right.

Gilmer just seems to have a hard time against Daingerfield every time they play.

QB Matt Whorton just picked up a first down rushing on 4th-and-9. D'field has it on the Gilmer 20. 3:28 to go in the third. Still 42-21, Buckeyes.

Curtis Brown scores on an inside screen from 44 yards out. 7:56 to play. PAT is good. Gilmer 55, Daingerfield 28.

The Longhorns have GOT to play this guy on offense next year.

What is wrong with Gilmer defense tonight? Didn't expect them to give up that many points.

Whorton scores again from one yard out. 5:44 left in the game. Try for two fails. Gilmer 55, Daingerfield 34.

When you score every other play you can't help but give up points. Opposing team gets ball like 8 extra times a game against Gilmer..they are going to give up 3 or 4 TDs a game.

Traylor started calling it the "fast break" offense a year or so ago and the broadcasters now do so as well. It does look more like a basketball score.

There's only about a minute left to play. Justin Johnson has not played at all tonight. He is suited out, though.

Gilmer's defensive coordinator, Todd Barr, is pictured in the latest Texas Monthly. He doesn't look too worried. I think he knows the offense will bail him out most nights. :D

Final score: Gilmer 62, Daingerfield 42.

Sounds like it was a good game. I'm sure DF was very motivated for this game. I just don't think any team can outscore the Buckeyes

Aesculus gilmus

Kinne had 344 yards passing.

Daingerfield had the ball for over 35 minutes and gained 561 yards total offense. Tigers ran 78 plays to Buckeyes' 39.

Traylor is explaining why Justin Johnson didn't play. Said Justin was not happy with the decision to hold him out, but that he ought to be really "fresh" with the bye week and then returning to action in two weeks.

Only 12 minutes. That's only 3 minutes per quarter and they scored 62 points!!!

I know before I even say anything how ridiculous it is to gripe about your team's performance in a game which they won by 20, but I'll do it anyway.
The defense looked TERRIBLE tonight. Those kids were out head-hunting instead of tackling, and they got 42 put on 'em. Kickoff coverage was bad also. For some reason, the Buckeyes did not want to tackle ANYBODY!!!!!
That being said, the offense was a "machine". D'Field never came up with anything even close to resembling a defensive scheme to slow Gilmer down. The starters played almost the whole game because it turned into "ping pong" in the second half.
All in all, it's a "W", and I'll take it. But "hats off" to Daingerfield! They played a great game when no one gave them a chance in Hell.
