Emeal Andrus has been tearing up the turf for the past two seasons. He ran up and down Leopard stadium last year and returns for a curtain call this Friday. Last week he ran for 300 yards against Needville. I don't know anything about Needville, but 300 yards is impressive. The La Grange DEs will need to box him in the middle and the Mlbs will have to wrap him up or he will be gone! Sealy loves mis-direction and traps to open up the middle. The Leps will be ready Friday for a typically strong Sealy team, just like old times. I see special teams making a big difference in this game either way as both sides have potential for long run-backs. Kick return coverage will be critical. Go Leps!

Sealy has had some incredible running backs in the past. This one sounds like another good one.

So far this season, the Sealy kick coverage teams have shown an unusual lack of ability to stop opposing returners on kickoffs, putting the defense under a lot of pressure due to opponents' short field opportunities. The counter trap with Travis Williams carrying has done a lot to loosen up defenses for Andrus' sweeps. Friday night should be another classic battle between two solid programs.

How is the Sealy Qb? Is he going to start or is he out with rib injuries still?

I believe he's out another week - he'll probably just kick this week again.

Interesting as word on the corner is Anderle may not start either. Battle of the back-ups maybe?

Another weeks rest probably wouldn't hurt either of them since it's so early in the season. Brantley will be there if needed, but Krenek did a great job against Needville.

La Grange's big offensive weapon is Greg Boothe, power fullback who gained 225 yards against Gonzales last week. Don't try to stop him with anything less then a perfect wrapped up tackle then prepare to go for a ride. Last week he went over the left tackle for 15 yards, was hit by the safety, drove 5 more yards, was hit by another defender, bobbled and regained the ball, turned up-field and ran another 20 yards dragging these two guys until he was brought down by a FACEMASK on the one by a third guy. It was unbelievable! This is a kid that wants to get into the endzone.

The Sealy-La Grange game will be a smash mouth grinder on the ground. Both teams like to run and have talent in the backfield. Both teams will be playing with back-up Qbs and it is not expected either team will throw much. Maybe a few swing passes but it will be a running game mostly. Look for alot of traps and mis-direction stuff from Sealy and quick dives off tackle for La Grange. La Grange has the talent to burn the defense. If they stack up 8 in the box and blitz as they might want to do, TE Schramm over the middle will make them pay. Coach V knows how to utilize good TEs and Schramm is beginning to turn some heads in the press box.
