Those fumbles were Sweetwater's fault, not Decatur's, but good strategy on the part of Decatur. The Mustangs will now drop out of the Top 10 and Decatur will go up.

I have seen alot of Decatur games over the last three yearss.. The one big compliment I have is that they are very well coached and they ARE ALWAYS very well prepared!! Sounds like tonight was no different!!

Story of tonights game is Sweetwater beat themselves and that the bottom line....I could go on forever about how terrible we played but I wouldnt waste my time....Just an all around terrible performance, the wost S'water game I've experienced IN MY LIFE!....and Cobb really didnt show me much, the kid couldnt throw worth a crap...we easly should have beat them by 2 TD's, but good luck on the rest of your season eagles....as for the stangs, I would suit 'em up tomorrow and practice strictly special teams for atleast an hour....I'll get off my soap box

Todd Dodge practices special teams a full third of every practice.

He even makes his kicker kick two forty yarders and if he misses the REST of the team runs two hundred yard wind sprints.

I guess it works.

my two cents. I hate it when people say "we beat ourselves", "we gave it away." Ok....yes this can happen if you just stand there and let the other team score and you put no effort in it what so ever. BUT....if you are making mistakes then that is not "giving it away". Defenses FORCE turnovers. If the ball carrier is just running down the field and drops the ball with nobody near them....then yeah...you gave it away. But if the defense is doing what they are taught to do and knock the ball loose then the defense has to get the credit. It is the defenses responsibility to get the ball back for their offense. It sounds to me like that is what Decatur did. GREAT TEAMS limit mistakes. And great teams don't make the same mistakes twice or three times. Great job Decatur. Good luck Sweetwater.

I sat next to ole Stang Red and watched this game. Swater has a very good team, they are very fast. They perty much run at will in the first half. The second half was a different story the pooch kicks killed em and their O was on the sideline most of the half. If the O ever installs a passing game they would be great with the running game they have. Decatur is a very good team also. Their spec. team is good, you can tell they work on it alot. Seem like them kicks would never come down and only travel 10 or 15 yards down field. The Cobb kid was good. His passing didn't look on track, but this kid is strong, you would think he was down and the next thing you know he would get out of it. Also I didn't catch this kids name, #1 was very quick. I thought that the Oates kid would do more, but he didn't. I enjoyed watching this game it was a good one. Sorry that Swater didn't win, but you know this loss may make them better. Sweetwater made mistakes all game...our offense never saw the field in the 2nd half and their defense was killer.......maybe Coach J will pratice on special teams a bit more....because if we play like we did last night...we might as well go ahead and schedule Roscoe or ,aybe even C-City....we played terrible....but i will say Decatur you have my props

Well, I was not at the game due to other priorities, but the announcers were wondering why Sweetwater just didnt call for fair catches? What like 2 or so recoveries for Decatur on kick off? Its the same story as it was in 2004 when we pooched Gainesville 2 times in less than 2 minutes in the first quarter and got the ball back and got 2 quick 1 play touchdowns. They finally either fair caught it or let it bounce into their hands.

im thinking they just played a bad game....everyone is entiltled to one. im glad it wasnt further down the road where you dont get a second chance. i also dont see decatur sneeking under the radar, they were also ranked well and just beat a good team last night.

our sec. is a joke....our corners get burned every play and most of the time don't even know the ball is in the air...just running to keep up...our safeties are nice...Holsey and Banyard...they are good...but as a whole...we have A LOT of work to do...i'm worried about Canyon honestly
