This was the 66 to 3 Massacre in football by UCLA over UT which was a total surprise. It started the events that got Coach Mack Brown to UT and the rest is history. According to Coach Brown's great book One Heartbeat that same day at Chapel Hill Coach Brown and North Carolina Officials were enjoying a great win over #17 Stanford 28 to 17. The North Carolina Officials thought the UT - UCLA score had been reversed but when it was confirmed one of the officals said to the others "I think we just lost our football coach."
Thank goodness he was correct. Hook 'em!
