Region I Game of the Week (2): Decatur vs. Sweetwater

I don't know who is going to win, but I can't imagine it not being a good game. Sweetwater is super fast, and Decatur is playing great D right now. It's gotta be a nominee for Game of the Week. What is your prediction?

Swater in ANOTHER nail bitter. I'm getting tired of these already, but I guess that's what you get, when you schedule good teams. They sure make for alot of grey hairs though.

I've been looking forward to this rematch for 4 years. With great respect for S'water, I am definitely rooting for the eagles. I'm sure Decatur will be the underdogs in this one, but I know Coach Story and the EAGLES will be ready. I'm sure Coach Story will have some emotional attachment to this game as well, as this is a homecoming for him. I believe he played on Coach Wood's final state championship team.

SIDE NOTE: Decatur is going to have to step it up on offense if they want to have a chance in this one. first 2 games have not been what they are capable of...in fact, if they play like they did in the 1st Q against Brewer...I bet they can put 35 up on the board no problem.

This should be a close game. Both schools are good this season, but I will give Sweetwater the edge by 7 in this one---although I like to "pull" for our District rivals outside of District.

The Mustangs are currently at 2-0, having defeated WF High & Brownwood. They returned 3/6 starters from their DII semifinalist team, with heavy losses on the OL. Can they continue their streak against a tough Eagle team on their homefield?

The Eagles are also 2-0 and have beaten Burkburnett and White Settlement Brewer (where the heck is that???). They fared a little better in the returning starter dept, with 4/5 and were DI area finalists. Do they have enough to fend off the 'Stangs?

You are wrong LHPM this game is not played in Decatur, it is in Brownwood. Come on if your gonna be picking GOTW give us some accurate information:D

LHPM don't worry about that. The site doesn't matter that much. Decatur will win by a touchdown. It should be a great game, but Decatur's defense will be the difference.

Who cares, that ancient history and a different group of players. I expect Thursday's game to be a very good one, but the edge goes to Decatur. Too bad Decatur is a Division I team or that might could be a playoff matchup later.

That playoff game against Decatur was in '02 and in regionals.

Decatur got the ball back at the end of the game and the QB threw up a sweet pass. The receiver caught it on like the 1 yard line and got hit from behind and just fell sideways the wrong way. Seriously, the ball had to have been on the 3 inch line. Awesome game.

I video taped that game and zoomed in on that last play....Kendall Carillo popped him straight dead onthe numbers before he could enter the endzone...It was a lucky 60 yard hail mary on the last play of the game

I think I heard brownwood had a good run stopping D....when our QB put up 114 yds. on the ground and I think some were in the 90's for Banyard....
