OMG - you're the first person who has recognized that. If it weren't for the fluke run by Elgin when the defenders were caught off guard by whistles, the Hornets would be unbeaten AND unscored upon.

Hutto led Elgin by 35 at the half, but put in reserves before fourth quarter like Caldwell.

Road games at Hearne (tough in 2A) and Robinson (rarely wins fewer than 7 games a year) should prep the Hornets before taking a week off followed by a final non-district game vs. Hutto.

The Hutto at Caldwell game in Week 6 should be a doozy of a battle. Last year, the Hornets held the Hippos until late in the game. Add an undefeated JV team up from last year and it has the makings of a classic showdown of burnt orange teams.

Hutto's first offense and defense did NOT see the field in 2nd half!!! It was all 2nd and 3rd teamers that played the whole 2nd half against Elgin's 1st teamers. That's how they got the 24. 1st half they ONLY had like 2 first downs!!!

Well, then the Statesman lied. At any rate, Caldwell didn't play its first string after the first six minutes of the third quarter. Without the fluke score, it would have been closer to 61-0
