You guys sure put it on Lubbock Cooper tonight. Are the Mules that good? I thought Lubbock Cooper was the favorite to win their district.

Cooper doesn't have the hoss QB they had last year, and they also graduated one heck of a center. I believe both of them are playing for Eastern NEw MExico at Portales. But they can still run the ball hard.. they have 3 good fast tough backs, and they like to run the belly option. When they hit the hole behind their huge guards and tackles, it's full speed! I really don't know how those little itty bitty Mules managed to stop their drives.

Muleshoe has always played power football, but this year Coach Wood faced reality, and has switched to the spread. Outstanding junior QB Garret Riley (sibling of Lincoln Riley from 2000 team)
can really run the spread. Moved last year's QB Brent Hamilton to wide-out, and that kid has quickness and speed. Cooper couldn't stop em.

looks like canyon played well tonight, didn't get to watch this one, but i'm sure they improved on last week, and dumas is much better than amarillo caprock. next week is seminole, then if i remember right the sweetwater mustangs come to town.

10-4 on the Fritch Frogs  they barely beat Amarillo Bushland last week in two OT's. Since this is Bushlands 1st year of varsity football, they are kind of an unknown, but Fritch was ranked about 25-30 in state polls. This loss to the lowly Dalhart Woofs should either wake 'em up, or show 'em what the season is going to be like.

Sounds like things may be looking up for Dalhart, since they shut out Guymon a week ago. Cool!

Dalhart's theme song ought to be "I been down so long it feels like up to me." They are in a tough district with Perryton, Canyon, and Borger, and have been low man on the totem pole for several years. Course they were getting beat by all of their non-district opponents also. Maybe this will be the year of the Wolf

Da Mules question for ya. I can't remember this kids name, but he is a real good baseball player. I think he is a soph this year. Does he play football?

well I don't really follow baseball, but you might be talking about Brent Hamilton, who is a senior. He'll probably get a baseball scholarship. and I would rate him as our best FB player.
I'll ask around, and let you know if there is a good sophomore player

Man I didn't know if it was alright to come out being that we are 2A now. I don't think Shallowater is clicking yet I think it will get ugly. Boy you should of heard that guy on 92.7 the guy that called the Cooper game for them on the radio, they were impressed and shocked. We just don't have one go to guy we can hit anybody.
