Lubbock Cooper took the opening kickoff and chewed up the field for a 6-0 lead on the first drive. It looked bad for da Mules-- until they tied the score in going 60 yards in 3 plays. Despite having a much larger O & D line, 3 very speedy backs, and the third Finch boy at QB, Cooper could not move the ball consistently and could not stop Mule QB Garrett Riley running the spread. da Mules smaller defense dug in, and found a way to kill the Cooper ground game; bent but didn't break. :D
Pie-rats actually looked pretty good; they can flat run it off-tackle, and their backs are a load to bring down.
