Well I got to watching the Texas Ohio State game on ESPN Classic from last year and they showed VY's numbers in the game leading up to the match up with oSu, so this got me to doing a little research and heres what I found out.

Vince Young (2005 vs. LA Lafayette) Texas 60-LA Lafayette-3
passing : 13-17, 173 yds, avg. 13.3 yds/completion, 3 TD, 1 INT, long- 40 yds

rushing : 7-49, avg. 7 yds/carry, 1 TD, long- 18 yds

Colt McCoy (2006 vs. North Texas) Texas 56-UNT-7
passing : 12-19, 178 yds , avg. 14.8 yds/completion, 3 TD, 0 INT, long- 60yds

rushing : 4-38, avg. 9.5 yds/carry, 1 TD, long- 27 yds

I realize that they played 2 different teams and all that good stuff that people will try and throw out there, I just got curious and did this research and thought I would share it with y'all.

That's pretty cool. I'd be curious to see the stats of Vince Young's first game as a starter vs. Colt McCoy's.

After Saturday, compare VY's 2005 stats against OS and McCoys stats against OS.

I'll tell you what, I like McCoy. He made some mistakes, but looking at his natural ability to throw the ball, avoid the sack, and manage an offense he didn't look like a three-star HS prospect.

Problem was... after OSU got a few licks in and the momentum shifted, he started fighting himself. Never a good thing. He made a couple of "young" mistakes, but that's what I expected from him at the beginning of the season. That's why I didn't think UT was quite NC material.

He'll settle down as he matures, and I don't think Jevan will see the field until Colt leaves the 40 Acres. His nerves got in the way this last game, but when he settled into a rhythm he reminded me a lot of another coach's son who played ball in Austin about six years ago. Maybe you remember him? Freckle-faced, went on to be a college coach, set a few school records before he was benched.

Remember what I said about the concussions? You get the "bell rung" and then suddenly....."Im Batman".
