My roommates car broke down on the side of the highway and when he went to get it, it was gone. He suspects it was towed, but he has no idea who to call cand neither do I really so I thought I would ask the DL and see who he should call

In town, should be the City Police.

DPS and local police right away----in case it was stolen, and they will probably be able to check to see if it was towed and advise you.

its been like nearly a week i've been telling him since the day it happened to call some kind of law enforcement but for some reason he wouldn't now that he did, they gave him a towing places # to call and when he called it they said that they did not have it so im guessing that his car is across the border

well when he called the sheriff they said they gave him the number to the place that usually deals with highway side towing and this was actually in Hudspeth County which is next to El PasoCounty

Hmmmmmm something don't smell right about this Dre. Why WOULDN'T he want to call the law? Is it possible there was something in the car he didn't want them to find?

Even if he did have insurance, since it was a beater, it was probably only liability anyway, which wouldnt cover theft, I dont think. I'm afraid your friend is SOL.
