View Full Version : The Toughest District RIGHT NOW?

I think in 24 they're having a tough time deciding who's going to the playoffs right now...

In 27 you have two teams who have clinched a spot so far... But you have 3 OTHER teams who are fighting for the last spot, and it's so fitting it comes down to the last week...

What other districts are seeming tough right now?

In district 23 Sealy and Bellville battle for the district title already having a spot in the playoffs, Columbus and Navasota are playing for a spot in the playoffs. All games should be very good and can end up being very close.

without a doubt it it has to be 183aI'd believe that if Marlin wouldn't have dominated every team they've played in their district...

So, since I have no clue what goes on inside of 18-3A besides Marlin dominating, what makes 18-3A tough (besides just 'names')?

GOBBLA IT WAS MEANT TO BE A JOKE. but what makes 18-3a so hard nothing. i got a question to ask you though. when u say marln is dominating are u trying to say that the district is so weak that marlin ( in your eyes not a good team) is blowing out everybody. we acutally dominated the district last yr, and the yr before that , and the yr before that, and that, and that. so i guess you get the ideal.

I say Marlin has dominated as in they have dominated (any time you shut out district something's going good)...

But what I was getting at when I said 'what makes it tough' is how is everyone besides Marlin doing? Do you happen to know if there are any big battles for the last two playoff spots or what?

District 24 is tough. La Grange, Elgin, Manor, Giddings and Hutto are all very much on a par with each other and except for Elgin (4-5 with a tough schedule in pre-district) have winning records (29 W 16 L). Smithville even played Giddings and Hutto close this year.

24 is tough if you're talking about playing each other, but overall, I don't think the district is all that strong.

25AAA
Burnet - #1 team in the state
Liberty Hill - 9-0 (beat smithville 56-6, beat Hutto 27-7 despite having 5 turnovers)
Ingram - battling for third
Wimberley - battling for third
Bandera - a much better team than their record shows
Llano - See Bandera (also beat smithville 49-0)

dominated? I recall a 1 point win over cameron last year that could have easily gone to OT had Sapp decided to kick instead of go for 2. Instead since we had a playoff spot either way, why risk injury? You won yes but dominated? no. As for toughest district, I say it's 17 3A. If nothing else, most competitive. China Spring, Gatesville, Waco Conally, La Vega.....sad that one of those guys has to sit it out come week 11.

In the district 24 games this week. IF and I said if, Hutto beats La Grange, Giddings beats Elgin, and Manor beats Smithville. La Grange, Elgin, Giddings, Hutto and Manor will all have district records of 3-2. This one could really be hard to figure out, who will be going to the playoffs.

I would have to say that District 12 is pretty tough. With Daingerfield getting second place. Last year the Tigers got second place in their district and went on to win the region.

District 5:

Graham 8-1 (in for sure)
Vernon 6-2
Iowa Park 7-2
Childress 7-2

One of those bottom 3 teams doesn't make the playoffs. can you imagine being on a 7-3 team and missing the playoffs?

That sucks. But at least the kids get the thrill of winning 7. I won 2 my senior year!
