yeah...all indications were that would it would be a close game. I guess the "code red" defense of Wimberley isn't quite as good as some expected.

I don't know if I am that shocked with the Cuero/Sinton score. Yeah...most people figured it would be somewhere in the 30-40 range for Cuero and 2TD range for Sinton...but still a blowout either way.

Allright....fine.

I'll say that Gilmer's game was a surprise considering all the hype around it.

Oh wait.....we didn't play a real team though did we "red moustache"? (or red moustache's secretary)

I won't say I'm really surprised by the Giddings/Wimberly score... Wimberly will still be a good team, it was just week 0 and they have a lot of kids to get into grooves... Giddings is just a REALLLLLLLLLY good team...

I did pick Giddings to win this one, but I didn't think they would run away with it. I think you are saying that you were not surprised that they beat Wimberley by this much. I pick Giddings to be in the quarters or better, and maybe win D2.

I just expected Giddings to win. I know they returned basically their entire team asside from a runningback and two recievers.

I remember Wylie getting whipped something awful buy a team early a couple years back (Decature maybe?), but beating that same team, deep in the playoffs that same year. So I wouldnt put toooooo much stock in any of these just yet. It'll take a few weeks for some of these teams to get to firing on all cylinders.

That was Decatur that beat Wylie badly during the regular season and then lost to them in the playoffs---03' or 04', I think Red. Ain't no fun to "play safe" on predictions, Red. :D

Not to me, when looking at how many skill returnees Livingston had, and monster defensive and offensive lines. One 6-6 guy, two 6-4 guys, and several 6-2 guys. All 240 plus, and not a fat one in the bunch. Not to mention the speed of their QB & RB. Livingston is a program that has been on the down-side for a long time, but not now.

It was a good test and experience for Jasper. Very few 3a teams are going to have the combination of size, speed, and experience that Livingston brought to the table.

it was in 2004...the year of Wylie's state championship. They lost to Decatur 42-6 in the regular season but beat them 14-13 in the Regional Finals.

That being said...Wylie is DEFINITELY missing their experience at the QB position (Case Keenum) as well as a talented, deep offensive line!

Jasper had their chances. Had first and 10 from the 5 and couldn't punch it in, and then got the ball right back in the red zone to throw interception.

Livingston is not a bad team by any stretch. Don't be too surprised if the Dogs go 0-3, and yet still find a way to make the playoffs.

And don't be surprised if the Dogs go 2-1 entering district. :)

Wimberely going down was no surprise.
I think Bellville will still beat them in district play though.

It's not on the list, but on all the other boards, newspapers, etc...Graham was picked to beat Greenwood, mainly because of our QB situation.

But on THIS board, the majority picked Greenwood to win!:D

Giddings to the final 4 this year. Then it takes some luck, no injuries, and some weather could even favor the Buff's.
