I live two blocks from the stadium and the traffic has been horrible all afternoon... I'm a Rice Alum and support the Owls as mediocre as they usually are but it never ceases to amaze me how many people show up for their games. The stadium holds over 70,000 and in the 100 year history of Rice there have only been a little over 25,000 graduates. And yeah I realize sometimes we play some pretty big opponents (enrollmentwise) with a big following (When A&M and UT used to visit yearly back in the old SWC days it was crazy) but I remember more than one game against Hawaii when we played in the WAC that had unreal attendances for a game between a small private school and an opponent from 4000 miles away.

I almost commented that Rice would find some way to pull off the loss back when they were ahead 30-14.... I knew they could do it!

A tough loss for Rice but the game shows they are competitive and will probably give Texas a big battle when they play UT in two weeks.
