The Leps lost their opening games in each year since 2000. Bay City in 2000 and 2001; Yoakum in 2002 and 2003; Cuero in 2004 and 2005. Admittedly, these were all very tough teams to draw anywhere in the schedule but it always seemed that week zero was a jinx for the Leps. The Leps were very poised in their first game last night with only 1 turnover and a handful of penalties, mostly offsides by the D due to the Lions using a long count. All in all they were ready to play football in week zero, something they have had difficulty with in the past 6 seasons. Hats off to Coach Walker and his crew for getting them ready.

Ya know these guys would really be awesome and do some damage if they would strictly play Callis and Neiser as running backs (no two way), and you still have the other two backs Menefee and Janca.

Of course the line opened up the holes. They deserve much of the credit.

And this is just the running game, I do not think they even threw a pass in the 2nd half.

I will give credit to the play calling as they continued to exploit the problems with the Lockhart D.

Good job Leps.
