Liberty touchdown! on a QB Sneak after a nice drive, 20-17 (XP blocked) 9:42 left in the game, the Panthers have completed a couple big passes in the game (not yard wise but play wise 3rd and long and such) which is very strange for them since they normally cant throw at all...

Yes he is VERY good. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get the MVP nod over Earl Thomas this year. WO-S has a few more weapons than BC and BC will totally ride Deshon.

Looks like the Cardinals in a sqeaker but glad to get the win. Does anyone have the stats on the game. Curious to see what happened to BC's defense tonight, whether it was the run or pass that got to them. Seems BC's offense is always in high gear, but the district will be tough this year.

BC was really good last year so if they are improved they may make a good run for the district title.

Don't sell your panthers short..several good players and some of them young.

even though we have 32 seniors on the team, very few of them played varsity last year. We are missing cody sparks and sam elmore on defense. Johnny Dishon played both ways tonight. He was exhausted by the time the game was over. Lots of bad snaps and uncaught pitch outs. tonight.

Total yards
Liberty: 378
BC: 294

I'm very surprised by this score. I had heard that the BC defense would be way down this year as they return only two starters, but I expected a blowout in this one.

Well, hopefully the large senior class they have can step up. BC won't sustain long giving up that kind of yardage on defense. By the stats it looks like we were good to get this one out of the way.

With just two starters coming back, they're obviously inexperienced. Good luck to you guys - except against WO-S...

more fumbles in this game than i've ever seen a BC team have in a game in probably the last 7 years.. Blown tackles, etc.. LOTS of work to be done for BC to compete in 21-3A. In reality, it looked like the first game jitters, which can hopefully be fixed before a Sept. 15th date w/ Lumberton.

They have several very good skill players and will be a tough opponent each week for however they face. Their string of over 10 years in the playoffs being snapped last year will have them even more hungry this year.

Very good ballgame. Dishon was the difference. He played both ways and made all the big plays for BC. I thought Liberty had a good chance to win this one with a 20-17 lead with about 4 minutes left and they had Dishon traped deep in the backfield but he broke free and ran probably about 40 yards down to the 8 yard line. 3 plays later they scored. Hats off to the Cardinals on your victory. A very fast team with a bunch of good athletes. Again, Dishon was unbelievable. Liberty should be ready by the time district rolls around as they have a tough predistict schedule with Kirbyville, and Diboll on the road back to back.

Dishon was a thorn in the side of a lot of opponents last year. I see this kid frustrating a lot of defenses this year. I know BC will score with him at the helm it is just whether the Defense can step up. If the Defense gels BC could make a pretty good run at WOS and Jasper in the district.

You are right. Only 30 kids on varsity and 5 of those are sophmores. Not alot of depth so injuries could be a big concern. If we can stay healthy we should have a good chance of returning as district champs.

I remember A LOT more fumbles than this, and a lot more penalties - Not to say this is wrong, it just SEEMED like the game was a lot sloppier than the stats show.

I guess I need to concentrate on the "W" for now, but I know this District will not be forgiving if we continue to play this sloppy.

I believe that there was actually 7 fumbles, 4 of them were in the first half if I recall correctly.

It has to be wrong cause I remember we lost a fumble on either our first or second possession of the game.

It's looking like Silsbee and Kville will be above Jasper (no offense to Jasper posters). I hope I'm wrong. I'm a bulldog fan when they aren't playing us.

Me, too, 'stick. Jasper is rich with tradition, like you guys are, and since they are from this area, I GOTTA pull for them most of the time. Now when you 2 square off, I gotta pull for you guys - ORANGE COUNTY FIRST!

And we can all say what we want to for now - Jasper will play like Jasper WHEN IT COUNTS!
