With Gonzales losing to Austin Travis last night, it looks like this district race is wide open. Here are last year's enrollment figures. If Gonzales doesn't make the playoffs, Cuero goes DI if they get in. If those two don't qualify, then Yoakum goes DI. Any thoughts?

Cuero 726.5
Goliad 434
Gonzales 784
Hallettsville 384
Luling 454
Yoakum 487

Please explain, how does the Gonzales loss to Austin Travis have anything to do with a 27aaa district race.

Austin Travis is no where near a powerhouse. They broke a pretty long losing streak last night (18 games I believe). They were 2-8 in 2000, 1-9 in 2001, and 0-10 in 2002. I know comparing past records and scores doesn't prove anything, but Gonzales beat them 49-7 last year. Just thinking Gonzales could be struggling. It has no impact on the district race, just an observation.

Yoakum 5-0 in District goes DII as Winner
Cuero 4-1 goes DII as Runner Up
Gonzales 3-2 goes DI

Gonzales has loads of talent but they lack discipline. Several Gonzales players were heard by LG players yelling at their coaches about wrong calls in the LG game. I can't imagine that at La Grange or Yoakum, can you? eek!

Heck, I'd hate to hear what happened to a Yoakum player that did that to THAT coach! eek!

I don't know the extent of the injury, but Gonzo did lose their QB... Hallettsville and Luling should be fighting fior the third, maybe second spot (it's tough this year)... You could see Yoakum Cuero and Gonzales, Yoakum Luling and Hallettsville, Halletsville Yoakum and Cuero, this that and that, that that and this...
