Dripping Springs is no power by any stretch, but they have a decent team. Hutto must be awesome this year, or Drip wasn't prepared. Probably a little of both...

I respect Hutto because they played with good sportsmanship last year, but the reality is that the area in which that high school rests is growing so rapidly that it could easily be a 5A, much less a 4A, within six months.

When you field more than 50 quality players to choose from on a defending state finalist 3A squad, it would be an unforgivable sin to win fewer than 12 games.

Hutto is now what Pflugerville was in the mid 80's. Anybody playing them should simply consider it a good warmup to district unless you're cursed to play them in league action.

I predict Hutto to have three high schools within five years.

Looks like they're going to sure be a HANDFULL again this year. Off to a better start than they got last year....

3 highschools in 5 years HAHA, sorry but that wont happen. They built the highschool so it could easily be added onto. Hutto will definatly be 4a in 2 years

Just got home. Hippos offensive line struggled a bit at the beginning believe or not. They still need ALOT of work!!! They have 2 Seniors,2 Juniors and a Sophomore starting. Their defense was in top form. 1st defensive play they caused a fumble and recover @ the DS 19 yard line. Defense caused/recovered 3 fumbles and 2 int's. DS lone TD came when QB Jeremy Kerley was being rested for a series and the 2nd team QB fumbled on the very next play at their own 15 yard line. DS scored 3 plays later. Jeremy Kerley was in top form,he rushed for 3 TD's and threw for 2 more TD's. Just a reminder Dripping Springs last year was the ONLY team to come with in 7 points of Wimberley last year. I'm not saying this is the same team as last year but just a thought. Overall,O-line still needs alot of work and the 2nd team defense does too!!!

:D

Defense is better and O-line needs ALOT of work. Need to get better at picking up blitzes and reading the defense's schemes. Need to work on their blocking schemes and reads.
