Sticky Thread Color Coding

We have implemented color coding of Sticky threads to help you determine which Stickies are newer than the others. Basically, we are going to use three colors, which will be determined by the ORIGINAL date the first post was created.

If the First Post in Sticky is < 10 days, use YELLOW
If the First Post in Sticky is between 10 - 21 days, use LIGHT RED
If the First Post in Sticky is > 21 days, use BLUE

ANNOUNCEMENTS will remain in CYAN.

If ya'll all have a better 'color code' rule that ya'll would like to see used instead of the yellow/red/blue theme, feel free to post your thoughts.

exactly. Compared to the other sites that I frequent, the # of stickies is very small. They just have bigger fonts to them (the viewer can control that though) than other sites I guess so it appears to take up more room.

So about the same actually. This is just a high # of stickies for this site. Plus...we will have at least 5 or 6 all season long assuming the evil post padding one stays up along with the GotW! ;)

Okay -- You may have noticed that we now have Green Stickies.. We had modified the "Color Code" to allow for you to determine if the sticky is actually a BRAND NEW Sticky or not. Here's the updated color scheme:

If the First Post in Sticky is 0-2 days, use GREEN
If the First Post in Sticky is 2-10 days, use YELLOW
If the First Post in Sticky is 10-21 days, use PEPTO*
If the First Post in Sticky is > 21 days, use BLUE

ANNOUNCEMENTS will remain in CYAN.

*The color PEPTO was named by shankbear, and the actual color is a lighter/brighter? red color.

Hopefully this will help you determine a little easier which stickies are new, and not all blinding yellow stickies..
