The Ingleside Mustangs rolled over the competition during last Saturday's scrimmage. Scoring 14 touchdowns in 50 plays, the Mustangs are stepping it up to get ready for the season.

The Mustangs started off the scrimmage against the Kenedy Leopards and made quick work of the competition on 25 plays, scoring six touchdowns while the Leopards couldn't get past the Mustangs defense.

Ingleside faced the Banquete Bulldogs during a second scrimmage but failed to find the end zone, where the Mustangs' offense scored on eight occasions.

“This time of year no one is where they want to be,” said Head Coach Graig Hesseltine. “We are a little farther ahead than last year.”

Averaging one touchdown on every fourth possession, the Mustangs are beginning to prove why they are ranked number one in the pre-season polls.

Coach Hesseltine said the weeks ahead will get tougher but has confidence in his team.

Sounds like the Mustangs are where they need to be so far.
