UT Lady Horns were very successful at the AVCA Tournament in Wisconsin this past weekend. First they beat No. 9 ranked Wisconsin in 3 straight games. Then the showdown Saturday against No. 3 ranked and the defending National Champions - Washington. In a fantastic match the Lady Longhorns beat Washington 5 to 3 with the 5th game being a 15 to 13 score. The Lady Horns showed a lot of poise and character being behind in the fifth game 11 - 13 as freshman Destinee hooker (also a UT track star along with her sister) scored four straight kills to win the game and match. UT's Michelle Moriaty was the MVP of the tournament. UT has a young team and this is a great start especially for the start of the year and should be good in the conference and playoffs if we can avoid injuries. This game has to also be a positive confidence builder also. Now we need to win games and consistently start beating top teams. Below is a photo of the team. Good job Lady Horns! Hook 'em!

on a side note, not to steal the horns thunder, but the lady Ags won the CSU Hilton Classic this weekend as well. Just thought you might be interested Phil.

CSTV is rebroadcasting these games today (Monday) and tomorrow. It is worth watching the championship game between UT and Washington but they also show the third place game too which was good match between Wisconsin and Ohio - both top 20 teams that Wisconsin won 3 - 2. Please consult your tv guide for the times and the games may overlap into other programs so if you do any recording you will probably need to add extra time on it.

Also Bull it would be nice if others would keep us updated on other schools such as Texas Tech, TCU, SMU, Rice, Houston, Baylor, etc.
