One of the top running back recruits in Texas, Joseph Reese hears rumblings from classmates at Pflugerville Hendrickson that Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione may be fired after this season. Reese, who has made a non-binding oral commitment to the Aggies, doesn't know if there's any substance to the rumors. Just in case, though, he's trying to identify a backup school.

The quote in the DMN yesterday said "I will go to A&M if Fran is the coach."

A recruit should never go to a school with the primary objective that the coach will be there. We all know circumstances change from year to year and sometimes coaches change jobs. The primary thing is that the recruit likes the school and the city in which it is located.
