Newest college all-star game has Texas twist

EL PASO, Texas -- The newest college football all-star game will be played in El Paso, bowl organizers announced Thursday.
The Texas vs. The Nation game, which will feature a team of top-rated college seniors who played college or high school football in Texas against a squad of top-rated seniors from the rest of the nation, will debut in either January or early February, the game's CEO Kenny Hansmire said.
Hansmire said seniors rated in the top 15 at their position by the NFL will be eligible for the game. Dozens of pro scouts are expected be on hand for the game.
Texas-El Paso coach Mike Price will lead the Texas team and a "nationally known" coach who has not been named will lead the national squad, Hansmire said.
A game date, time and television broadcast schedule should be set by mid-September, Hansmire said.
