Bottom line is this: this is the FIRST game. There will be kinks to work out for both teams. I think it is safe to say that Cuero is probably further along in where they want to be than Sinton is. Sinton has a new QB, a young BIG line and are returning some exciting receivers & TB/RB/FB (whatever you call 'em) this year!! I'm looking forward to watching them develop & grow as the weeks roll by. I'm not trying to make excuses, but people need to understand that these are NOT the same two teams that met up in '04 or would have met up last year. Toss all that crap out the window!!! This is a brand new season and anything can happen in GAME ONE!!!!!!!!!!

:cheerl: GO PIRATES GO!!! :cheerl:

Good point p4s.
I agree and hope the Pirates play hard and get better each week.

The Pirates will probably be a work in progress. Remember, the 03 team went 1-4 in the preaseason, but then went undefeated in district and made it to the regional championship.

smoking point of unprocessed olive oil is way too low. youd have to use regular sl*tty olive oil to be able to reach the temperature and duration needed to fry a turkey

even if Cuero dont win it all i am sure most of the fans in Cuero will still be happy for the team if they lose deep in the playoff rounds. enjoy the playoff success because it wont always be there.

Did SintonFan_InAustin say most of the COACHES or most of the FANS???

BTW, when some of those skill players from Cuero were out, didn't you guys struggle against Hallettsville (are you gunna answer the questions, face the facts or just cover up your hatred for the '06 Gobbs as you've been doing???)???

Forget what I've said, you have no grudge, it's HATE... you are a Cuero HATER...

Dear lord, I've been wanting to see Cuero win state because I'm an ex-Gobbler, and wanna see this team win state because some of their players post here (as well as last year's team), but now I just wanna see 'em win so you can shut up....

how can you say it was the underclassmen being out that made the difference? latrael and jwess and alfred were out too i believe. when that jr wr was out the first playoff game did that stop the pass game? im sure you didnt forget what jwess did that game. this year's team will be great. i just believe they will miss a lot of the players that left.

Latreal had how many yards for Cuero last year??? his knee hadn't fully healed yet...

Yes, that receiver was out in the first round, but a Junior didn't throw him the deep ball??? A junior didn't have close to 200 yards rushing that game???

Oh, and I remember that holding called on that Cuero offensive line you talk about in that Hutto game... you know, the one where the Cuero junior ran a touchdown and it had to get called back because of the hold?

IT goes both ways... I can't blame a kid for holding... he could have done that any other game of the season and it would have been okay (in your frame of mind anyway, since you only bash the underclassmen for their 'last game', being the only one 'you' lost)... I won't point fingers at any of the players and blame them for losing the game like some 'so-called' team-player on this message board... the fact is that Hutto put it to Cuero in that final two minutes of the semi's last year... FACE that fact....

Had Cuero won that game and the next, no matter how hard those underclassmen played you wouldn't have this problem right now... because you're selfish...

What could YOU have done to beat those Hutto guys???

HOW did the underclassmen quit?

Did they drop a ball (As you most-likely missed a block once or twice that season)???

Did they miss a tackle???

You talk about how big of a 'team' these teams were, yet you sit here and pick 'em apart as if you were your own individual on your 'so-called' team...

you're a disgrace...

dude you got me. that jr qb did jump over the defender and catch the ball for jwess. you are totally right. those passes were just right on the money. man i have never seen a receiver hit in stride like that before. also that was a phantom holding call. but if you want to start throwing out "phantom" plays, then who was it that fumbled the ball deep in their own territory which led to hutto scored and going up 20-14 instead of cuero scoring a touchdown? fabian didnt fumble and there wasnt holding on the play that got called back. both plays were reviewed by the coaches and fabian was down and no one was holding. so you can go on somewhere with that

If I'm not mistaken, two of those passes were right on the money and he walked into the endzone... same with the Liberty Hill pass etc............ ............................ .................. ...................... ........................ ...........

And I did not know about your phantom holding calls because I was in the stands, so don't blame me for not knowing what 'coaches' reviewed for I am not in touch with the Cuero coaches...

You're still an '06 Gobbler hater...

(dear lord, your "we played as a team" sure looks distant from what you're spouting off now..)

MagicMan
08-31-2006, 09:55 PM
you are mistaken. he jumped over a guy once and then had to fade off toward the sideline and catch a pass over his outside shoulder willie mays style.

The first pass was in stride, the second was in walk because he was 60 yards down-field...

I'm not trying to say the seniors were horrible, or that they weren't good, I'm just here defending the underclassmen...

I guess we'll just agree to disagree...

All of the Gobbler games this season will be aired on 100.9 "the Beat" courtesy of some very generous donors and corporate sponsors. It will be "more organized" next week. Literally got the deal up and running on Weds of this week........
Joe and Granpa will be doing the colorful commentary as usual :D There is a chance of an internet feed in the future, but details still being worked out on that - fingers crossed it works out :D :)

Now this is gunna be funny... in the past the 'old' folks not headed to the game would tune into 104.7 and maybe catch some newer Texas Music or some country gold classics before the pre-game stuff came on and then the game...

Can you imagine the looks on their faces now???

"Yah, I hear it's on that 100.9 station, turn her on over it'll be on in 5 minutes!"

(they turn to 100.9)
