Uh, Sportsmanship??? Uh, the article wasn't referring to other schools showing sportmanship, it was referring to UT. I agree it should go both ways. I just find it interesting that Phil chose to defelect the focus on the article rather than accept it(the article) for what it was.

This topic has been discussed thousands of times and always boils down to this: All schools have some fans who behave badly. (What a revelation). I don't condone bad fan behavior, but it happens---just make sure you are not one of the fans who "goes overboard". This has gone on forever in athletic competition but I think in the modern era of intense media coverage and scrutiny, it gets "held up" to the light more.

Well said bull. I agree that both sides need to conduct themselves with class.

 Phil, have I told you today how much I truly admire you? Seriously, I may poke fun at you a bit but it's always because I know you are classy enough to take it and keep on keepin' on. Have a great day Phil, you deserve it.

He did accept it. Hence the phrase "sounds good" on his initial reply.

He then followed up with "but it should go both ways." He agreed with the article, but it's not right for him to have a rebuttal?

sounds like my 8 year old response when he gets in trouble. "yeah but what about...but what about..."

That implies that UT has been in trouble before. Can you name an instance in which we threw horse poo on someone? Or we were burning couches?

If we did something bad that caught the attention of the national media, I'd understand. If you 8 year old actually did something wrong, then yeah, of course he's going to blame something else.
