Burnet suffered a terrible loss yesterday with the deaths of two BHS Seniors and and one 2006 graduate, in two separate accidents.

Tuesday morning a traffic accident just south of Burnet claimed the lives of 17 year old Celia Ramirez and her passenger, 17 year old Joshua Merrick, in a tragic accident when Ramirez lost control of the surburban she was driving, veered off the road and over corrected to collide head-on with a dump truck towing a trailer. Both teens died at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was injured, but is in stable condition at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.

About 5:30 PM Tuesday 18 year old Andrew Ivicic, a 2006 BHS graduate, suffered severe injuries in a motorcycle accident just north of Bertram, in Burnet County. Andrew died from his injuries about 9:00 PM at Breakenridge Hospital in Austin.

Ramirez was a ranking officer in the BHS Band, Merrick was on the Burnet Track team and Ivicic was a former BHS football player and power lifter.

This is a huge blow to our schools and community. All three have younger brothers and sisters attending Burnet CISD schools. The kids have been hit really hard by this.

Life is short and so very fragil. All of you young people , Please be careful.

My prayers go out to these young peoples families and friends.
