I bet lots of folks are going to disagree with these Star-Telegram 3A Pre-Season rankings. I think the first 3 teams may be a little high, and Sweetwater should be much higher. This has got to be their "coverage area" ranking.

You're right...that's pretty interesting. While I think Kennedale is going to be pretty good this year (some are saying the best team in the last 7-8 years), when you consider what they lost to graduation it's hard to imagine them being ranked that high when they haven't even had a game yet.

The top three look to me like they are the 'tradition' or 'program' votes.

wierd coverage area .... looks like that if a school is in the star telegrams area then the entire district is

3A ranking look reasonable to me except i would have thought maybe s'water would have been higher ------------- i agree with Decatur #1 however

I would have put Snyder one and Sweetwater two. Or else the other way around. Just from what i've heard about them.

I'm kinda confused that Sweetwater is in the startlegram's coverage area. I'd never seen anything about them in there before.

C'mon now. We're not really that bad are we? We're just passionate about our football, and our boys that play it. Even if their not #1 in any polls, at least they always know, their #1 in our hearts, and thats whats important.

I just finally looked at that poll. I have no problem with Sweetwater being #10, but some of the teams they have ranked higher than that certainly dont belong in any top 10. And, where is Gilmer??? Not even 1 vote for Gilmer??? That ought to tell you alot about this poll!

Just having some fun, Stang, and trying to steer the posts away from West Columbia vs Bellville, and soon to come Sealy vs Bellville.

Where are all the Sealy posters anyway? I haven't heard much from them since softball season. What kind of team do the Tigers have?

I just noticed every team in district 7 is represented here except for Clyde. I guess that makes them the Rodney Dangerfeild of district 7, as far as this poll goes.

Interesting....Maybe they are trying to sell a few newspapers to the Sweetwater and Abilene folks.

I can understand Breckenridge, since its remotely close to Ft. Worth, so I guess since Breck was listed they went ahead and put in the rest of the district.

What, no 3A poll should be without Gilmer and Cuero. Sweetwater is ranked too high, along with Wylie. Didn't Gainesville graduate most of its starters from last year?
