after reading about sinton's monster o-line i think the gobblers' 28 game regular season win streak will end with a 42-41 loss to the pirates

Havent seen the Pirates this year, but have seen the Gobblers past couple of years and its about the same team with more experience. They will be tough just to make this a contest as the Pirates offense is inexperience, but Defense is more intact from last year will be more up to the challenge than the offense.

Game is in sinton. looks like sinton is not to comfertable with passing yet! Lots of running is what I hear sinton will be doing! Cuero will be a good test for sinton to find out how good they are!

i think sinton is gonna wear down cuero's d. i just have a feeling. sinton is great at home. cuero lost a lot of great starters from last year on defense.

I think you go with Cuero on this one. Sinton big up front and the D should be strong but they breakin in a new QB and will be running a different offense than in the past. So it may take a few games to get things goin.

No doubt in anybody's mind the Gobblers are the front runner in this contest. Sinton should be counted as the underdog. Sinton lost their QB and both starting receivers from last year to graduation, and are having to reload the offense. Hopefully the Pirates will have made enough progress to make a game of it. We'll just have to wait to see.

Run Run Run!

If the Sinton D can hold them to 21 or less then the Offense will make a game of it.

Remember: Speed Kills.

Cuero got speed!

Just my 2 cents.

Wes looked good and completed some passes, he has some speed. They looked like they been running the ball before, so they are coming together. In my opinion the D is much better than last yr, because the secondary did not let goliad complete any passes. They were all over them and if I remember they had a interception. So IMO with a much improved D and a good running game its possible they can give Cuero a game. Any running game could give any defense a fit. Its still early so things can change.

Aranda was second string running back and IMO he can run better than josh, aranda makes something out of nothing. He doens't have his speed but he fights for more yards. My 2 cents from what I seen

Did the Harris kid get any playing time?

sinton3055
08-20-2006, 06:56 PM
I'm not sure who he is but if its that kid that transfered last yr from beeville he played second team O with Aranda in the backfield.

I talked with Josh on Friday. He said he was ready to play some ball, but he is on the freshman squad. At 6'5" he should be able to see over the line. Those boys play catch outside all the time so I know he can throw. Sure would like to see them play catch in the game. Mixed in with a lot of running.

Not taking anything away from Wes who has much more game experience.

I think that this will be a good match up just like everytime these two teams play. I believe Cuero will pull it out in the long run though. Although I think that Cuero's reagular season winning streak will come to a end this year. I hope they prove me wrong but I just have a feeling.

Yes, that's who I was referring to, I believe his name is Nick Harris.

Harrison.

Tall. Good arm. Freshman. His brother is a WR and a JV.

Pirate4state I think Ranger354 and I are speaking of 2 different Josh, I'm talking about Wes brother. is it Joshua or something like that #33.

Well, whatever happens, I for one am glad we're returning to a running game. Passing is great, but you can't be just one dimentional anymore. I've always dreamed of putting together an O based on the wing-t with shifts into the spread. This would, however, take a talented line to keep making the adjustments.

Sinton's passing game was respectable during the scrimmage vs. Goliad. Wes threw well 20 yards and in...who was #86? He made a great catch while dragging one foot in bounds.

Sintonmaniac that was a smooth catch, not sure who that was myself.

Yes I am talking about a Freshman Josh. He is a QB and will be ready in a year or two.

If you can run effectively you can pass. In the past we had some great running backs, but we also threw the ball. One always complements the other.

I think the same way as many did the past few years. We threw the ball too much. Some times you can score quickly, but that also puts your defense on the field much of the game.

That's exactly right. The balance in an attack gives the defense some time to rest too. It's a lot more important than people think.

Whatever the cast maybe, I am excited to be back in the Corpus Area! I will hopefully be able to make the game this year, seeing that I haven't been to a Pirate game in 4 years! I will say it is going to be a great game, I will be pulling for the Pirates though(as if there were any doubts)!!!

Looking forward to seeing you Old and Gobblar and others that can come. I am sure we will meet and greet at halftime at the same place and maybe after the game someone can take a picture of all of us somewhere for the 3a downlow.
