His fifteen minutes of fame were whipping Tyson 10 years ago.
He is a man headed for a disability that won't allow him to talk
or have use of other motor skills.:(

This was on right after the astros game. I thought it was like "Classic fights" or something and wasn't paying attention. Fight is now over - Holyfield won

anyone who has been a pro since 99 i wouldnt consider a no name...maybe not recognized but has been a pro for a while Holyfield hasn't fought in 21 months and is 43 years old. you have to start slow. If he really wants a title chance he cant start right with the title fight. He has to beat a couple of little uns on his way

Oh, I understand that. I hesitate to say that Holyfield look good though, for that reason, but I will say that I was impressed. I would like to see him fight a top 10 fighter.

I think this speaks volumes about the state of Boxing today - and for the last 10 years. Damn shame if you ask me... He's a 42(?) year old man who could be a top 10 contender? It's becoming more and more a side show.

Considering he is the only 4 time heavyweight champion i would say he has had a few more minutes of fame. I agree he should not fight anymore and this is for money. However he is a warrior and has the heart of a lion. I consider him one of the top 20 fighters of all time.

When I heard Holyfield was coming back, I thought, "Not again. When will this guy retire?" I enjoyed watching Holyfield's career until the Tyson fights, then he became stagnant. In his prime, he would have whipped the crap out of John Ruiz (that guy was weak), but he had two shots at the guy and looked bad both times.

I will say this...after watching him last night, even though he was fighting a putz, he looked quicker, particularly his hand speed. When you get older, especially into your 40's like him, your head movement, feet, and hand speed decline. But last night, he showed his best hand speed since fighting Tyson. I think he can beat a top 10 contender and I hope he stays on track and fights for the title. That would be fun to watch (depending on the PPV fee) as long as he doesn't resort to his sloppy showing in his previous few fights. I think his shoulder injury really DID have a lot more to do with his decline than everyone thought.

sure hope he can do it. To have more than 1 champion in the same sport is ridiculous.

Wait...don't we have that in Texas already?
