Another "hot" topic of previous debate, but.....Would you like to see a D1-D2 playoff game to end up with 1 state champion in each classification? When and where would/could such a game be held? How would/could the UIL be persuaded to entertain this idea by those who support it?

If they were to do that then why even have division I and II? Just
go to 96 team play-off bracket with a third of them having byes
the first week.

I actually read an article just the other day about potentially adding a 4th team to the play-offs in 5A-3A. Interesting story. It claimed that one of the things the UIL is looking at is adding a fourth team and creating larger districts with the big schools in one half of the district and the small schools in the other half. One of the things the larger district idea would create is a shorter play-off run. 5 games instead of 6 and it would eleminate waiting for the final week's games to played to determine who would be big school and who would be small school. Basically, it creates 8a,7a,and 6a without calling it that. Each class 5a-3a would have approximately the same number of schools just divided per district by attendence. It can be found on the front page of The Old Coach @ www.theoldcoach.com
