I'm going up there Saturday for a concert and I'm trying to get a clear answer on something. I've never been up there so I don't know. Do they serve alcohol in the casino? I've heard anything from YES but not at the tables to NO there is not alcohol allowed anywhere in the casino.

Has anybody been up there and could enlighten me on the subject? Thanks.

As your former Baptist Sunday School teacher, I am becoming concerned about your seemingly desperate persuit of alcohol.

LOL...it's not a desperate pursuit. However, seeing as I am the trip coordinator for people from Dallas, San Diego, and a few other places in between...these questions were brought up to me so I must be able to provide an answer.

No worries sir...things are still on the up and up over here!;)

OK, everything's cool. I saw this post and then yesterday you were lamenting over the failed tequila delivery, so I started wondering a little. Just remember--moderation, my son!

I don't wanna sound like an idiot. From what I can find on google though it does sound like alcohol is not sold anywhere on the property.

my nonsense flies all year round! ;) And go find how many crazy threads/posts I have compared to most on here...you'll find not that many! I'll talk about whatever...but if I'm starting the thread it USUALLY has some relevance.

Adidas....Hope there is not any problem if you happen to "hit" a pretty good jackpot. There have been some real "horror" stories about WinStar declaring "equipment malfunction" when some patrons have "hit" some pretty good jackpots.

for others that might make this same trek someday and need to konw this information. I realize this is primarily a Region 4 board so most of the regulars won't make it up to Oklahoma...but it can still be helpful info.

Besides...since when can somebody not come on here and ask a question?

Yeah I found some articles from Dallas media about that when searching for my answer. That is one of the reasons I won't play slots to begin with...because my trust level in an automated machine that is already designed to work against me...well yeah it's not going to be pretty high. We aren't going up to gamble...just to go see Pat Green. If we get there early enough I may play poker for a bit...but that is against other players not against the house.

I'm pretty sure you can get alcohol at the tables.

Either way, alcohol is for sure there.

hmm...I'm getting confused cuz I found a few articles in the DMN as well as some blogs that stated that Winstar sucks cuz you can't have alcohol there. The most recent article was from WFAA on April 27th.

If you are talking about the Casino north of Gainesville, there is no alcohol sold or allowed. I went up there a couple of months ago to see the current lineup of Foreigner in concert and was unpleasantly surprised to find out that it is alcohol free. What is worse is that they have a real nice bar including glasses and the whole 9 yards. It is a very nice coffee bar. I asked a few questions while I was there and was told that the owner of the Casino doesn't like the stigma of native american indians and alcoholism so as long as he is alive there will be no alcohol allowed on site.

I totally believe you. But, as a guy who has gambled in casinos
from Las Vegas to the Mississippi river I believe the casinos
would want you as intoxicated as possible. You tend to take
more risks and make bad decisions when gambling with a buzz.

Well, the answer to the original question is "NO".

I just called and asked. So now my question is this...where did I get that beer from a few weeks ago?

I will say this--they offer free drinks all around the casino. There are several machines that have Pepsi (ugh), Dr. Pepper, and other pepsi products. Just walk over there and fix yourslf a drink, free of charge.

Maybe you got your beer the same way I did. The parking lot isn't that big so an occasional stroll to the truck isn't that bad.

That's kind of what we were thinking. Do you know if they allow you to carry in a bottle of water? The contents COULD easily be swapped out to things that mix better with coke! ;)

Carrying something in could be very, very easy, I think. The only thing stopping you would be the bicycle cops that ride around in front of the place. If you put a bottle of "water" in your cargo shorts, I don't think you'd have a problem.

Or one of the big purses that the girl brings with her! ;) I think that might be just what we do...:)

And football.

I'm about to die if I don't see a game soon. (And the NFL pre-season doesn't count.)
