Corsicana: One-upping Ennis
Copy editor Carl Ellis, working on our My High School web project that will launch next week, was just on the horn with Corsicana AD Sam Thompson. He asked Thompson the capacity of the Can's new stadium.
Thompson: "10,001."
Ellis: "Why 10,001?"
Thompson: "Because Ennis seats 10,000."
For those who aren't Highway 287 regulars, there's just a wee bit of bad blood between those two towns and football programs. I'd say Ennis still has bragging rights.
In case you were wondering, Corsicana and Ennis will play in the smaller stadium on Oct. 27. Ennis will make the trip to Corsicana next year.
