hmm well we might have already had one of these before but Best BBQ?

I would have to say mine comes to a three way tie
My Grandpa's
Big Boy's Barbeque in Sweetwater
and Joe Allen's in Abilene

it all depends on what we are talking about...

brisket
sausage
pork ribs
beef ribs
turkey/chicken
steaks
bbq sandwich

I wouldn't have the same answer for any of the two items

last year some intelligent poster pointed me to the Railhead (i believe thats what it was) in Fort Worth when we went up there for our anniversary. that was the best BBQ i have had. well worth the drive from dallas. i hope we go up there again in december. id like to make another stop

one dissapointment was Stubb's in Austin. i was really looking forward to it and they may be why i didnt like it much. too high of expectations. i liked the location and the feel of the place, but atmosphere does not a barbeque joint make.

NFL Hall of Fame member Randy White's BBQ in Dallas is very good. They also have a lot of sports memorabilia, including many pictures of former Cowboys.

Definetely! Though The Salt Lick's original Driftwood location is a close 2nd.

But I've heard good things about Sonny Bryan's in Dallas...never tried it though.

If you are ever in Northeast Texas, try Carter's BBQ in Longview. You gotta get the Carter's Special.

In all the 10 years I lived in Dallas I never tried Sonny Bryan :( but I too have heard nothing but great things!!
