For me, the Sinton loss to Marble Falls in '93 regional final was the most frustrating game I ever watched. 7-0 loss after the refs beat us. 4th quarter late, Sinton calls a sweep from the 25 yd line out of the wing-t, back gets the ball and has turned the right corner headed for the end zone with no one near(line's already blocked to the inside), and the ref blows the whistle, because the other side wanted a "time out". Coach Mickler almost blew a gasket on that one. Me too!

The Sinton/Bridge City game two years ago in the semi-finals at College Station, that was absolutely heartbreaking. But ya'll were good, and we couldn't get anything on you. Had to go to our 3rd string QB that game...
I really don't like to think about it, but it's burned in my brain...

That was bad, 66. I wasn't at that game, though. But watching Cuero blow the Pirates out 35-7 in '87 was just too hard to stomach. :( This was in the bi-district round.

For me, Burnet's loss to Bellville in 2001 Bi-District round. Burnet trailed 20-14 with 25 seconds and no timeouts, facing a 3rd and goal from the Bellville 1-2 yd line. Patrick Miller takes a toss to the right where he is met at the goalline by a Bellville defender, help comes for the defender and they proceed to push Miller back to the 5 yd. line and then the ball pops out. Instead of forward progress being ruled and Burnet getting a quick shot at 4th and goal from the inch line, the play was ruled a fumble Burnet loses 20-14. The typically large Burnet crowd came unglued, the officials were QUICKLY escorted out of the stadium by Round Rock police. It was very frustrating, and I think it played a BIG part in the boys preparation for last season. I know it was a LONG off-season for me as a fan, I can only imagine how the players felt.

On the other hand, this was one of the most exciting games I have witnessed. Great Game!

There are 2 that I can think of that really got to me. In '86 when West Orange beat Jasper 21-15 in the 4A quarterfinals and in '84 when Willowridge beat us 10-6 after we beat Crosby by 70 the week before in the first round. Those were two really strong Jasper teams that could have gone a lot farther than they did.

I think as an Everman fan the most frustrating was the 1999 area round playoff game against Wichita Falls..2 up and coming teams that really played a thriller..Everman led in the 4th 21-7...but Wichita Falls swung the game with a long TD run midway through the 4th to cut the lead to 21-14...with 2 minutes left the Coyotes went on a long drive....facing a 4th and goal from the 16 with 27 seconds left a tipped pass was caught in the end zone to make it 21-20...Everman proceedes to block the extra point but was called off sides...Wichita Falls ties the game at 21...in OT the Coyotes score to make it 28-21...on Everman's possesion QB Larry Bradford found a streaking reciever in the end zone for the apparent game tying TD...however he was called past the line of scrimmage...Everman proceeded to go out on downs and lose 28-21...the next year Everman dropped to 3A...while Wichita Falls lost to Ennis in the 4A semi-finals..a close second is the 2000 loss to Abilene Wylie..

...in '84 when Willowridge beat us 10-6 after we beat Crosby by 70 the week before in the first round...Yeah Kenny, Jasperites still talk about that Willowridge came to this day. The way the old timers tell it, Jasper actually scored a touchdown in the final minutes of the game and in the excitement, the player that scored put the ball on the ground to celebrate and the referees ruled it a fumble. (But, I'm sure Willowridge remembers it quite differently.)

There were several other West Orange games that were hard to take, but I could write a book about how much I hate the Mustangs.

I was a senior during that '86 loss to WOS. It was a hard one to swallow.

for forney fans this is a pretty close tie between the loss to LG back in 2000 and the loss to everman in 2001. The LG game was dissapointing because it ended forney's awesome playoff run after a mediocre regular season with 5 losses and no one expected to make it to the big game. The everman game was the end to the season that supposed to belong to forney from the very beginning. After going 11-0 and maintaining the number one ranking all season long, the 1 and 2 teams in the state had to meet up in the second round which was frustrating but hey it had to happen eventually. Of course both games ended on last minute drives and a turnover. i was actually told by a forney player that it was freaky cause both games ended on the same yard line(dont recall which yard line.)
