The Cowboys train in Oxnard, Calif.

The Rangers knock off the rust in Surprise, Ariz.

The Mavericks have their sights set on Denton.

Coach Avery Johnson met with University of North Texas officials Monday and said the club hopes to conduct the first five days of training camp at the university. The rest would be at American Airlines Center as it has in the past.

"We are in preliminary talks, and it's really going well," Johnson said. "There is a high probability that we will go there if we can work out some kinks."

Camp opens in October.

Why would a basketball team travel anywhere for training camp? The reason football and baseball teams travel is because of the weather. I'm pretty sure the arena in Denton is the same temp. as American Airlines Center. (Or anywhere else for that matter)
