Good news indeed now as a great QB (not as great as Vince but still outstanding) can now get to training camp and on the field where he belongs. It wasn't a bad deal since it is for a six year $51M contract with $14M guaranteed. It has worked out well for him under the circumstances. He probably would have made much more money had he gone pro after winning the Heisman and leading USC to the National Championship over Oklahoma but still it has worked out ok for him.
Vince Young probably was right in going pro and getting the money even though I hated to lose him his last year but maybe if your value is high you need to get it while you can. Some players wait and play their last year to get a more higher value. Probalby it is the higher guarantee they want since injuries in pros can cut your career short sometimes plus insurance is available for seniors in college.
