Bellville was far superior in a game played on wet field conditions. Hempstead players played with heart and pride, considering the lack of fan support. Their band resembled a three piece orchestra. Hempstead's #6, the smallest player on the field, reminded me of "Rudy". He played defensive end with a motor that wouldn't quit. Hempstead's football program is down right now, but hopefully they can turn it around.
