I know they go up to Cook County...but I'm not sure if they include Wise County or not. You would think that they would...but there's no telling.

DMN does not cover Wise County sports, but Wise County is considered "fringe" DFW and is covered by the Star-Telegram and Denton Record-Chronicle.

I think that about as far as they go, remember there's not many 3A schools in the dfw area

Not surprising since there are about 50 liquor stores there.
On the Smith County-Henderson County line, and Smith County is dry.

Cooke County. (You forgot the "e". :D)
And yes, I've seen articles about Decatur in the DMN. So I'm pretty sure they cover Wise County. Although, Wise County might be covered a bit more by the FWST than the DMN.

I'm not really a worry-wart, but I am a little worried about the move to district 12-3A, though. I don't know anything about the teams, but everything I read leads me to think it's not a particularly tough district. If that's true, how do you get a team ready for the competition of the playoffs?

Celina is 69-1 in the last seven regular seasons.
They also won four state titles in those seven years, and have only lost four games out of the last 103, with a 49-3 record against 3a competition.
But they are over-rated.

should they be number 1? no, not in my opinion. SHould they be number two. Sure. I'm just not a big fan of a team jumping in classification and automatically be ranked number 1 according to what they did in the lower classification the year before. I saw Madison and Celina play last year. In my opinion Madison beats them and Madison is returning more starters then Celina including possibly the best runningback in the state of texas.

It doesn't really make a difference in this case, but it is a 3A and other ranking. Celina could have remained in 2A and still have been #1. I don't think they should be #1, but I guess we'll find out in week 12.

I see your point but I still believe they should have to beat Madison or Madision should lose a game before they lost their higher ranking.
Celina will probably roll through their weak pre-district schedule as they usually do and then roll through their mediocre (spelling?) district schedule and then we will see what kind of 3A team they are. They just might prove me wrong. At this point my belief is they arent better then Madison.

4A Dallas Lincoln?
4A Dallas South Oak Cliff?
Dallas Pinkston?
Dallas Roosevelt?
Have you seen any of those teams the last couple of years?
Those teams are pretty darn good. Is Madison's district tough? Not really. I would say Celina's is more difficult. Roosevelt will be good. Carrolton Ranchview and Lake Worth wont be bad. Madison WILL be tested in the pre-district schedule. That IS a tough pre-district
They are a little more athletic and skilled then:
Argyle Liberty
Plano Prestonwood
Princeton
Prosper
Bonham
Pilot Point
