Nope RM, plain-ol' controversy ain't good enough---I want some real slug-it-out, point-by-point debate (without personal attacks, of course).

Bellville should be included in this. Averaged mid 30's last year and have 9 of 11 coming back. Only loss was an OL and the TE.

I think you can take Sweetwater off your list.
Have you seen our schedule?
I dont see us pileing on alot of points in some of those games. We may average about 30 per game at best. Dont get me wrong, thats very good, but it wont compete for highest scoring in the state. There will be alot of good teams with weaker schedules that will average 40 to 50 I'm sure.

Also, there are teams out there that still have their starters in
there when the games all ready been decided. :(

Gilmer always pulls their starters in a rout....... but we do not change the offense. the 2nd and 3rd teams do get their chance to run the real offense. and more times than not, they score a couple more times.

SLC against Abilene High in last year's play-offs for one. Not only
did they leave their starters in til the fourth quarter...they were
still throwing 40 and 50 yard bombs. Final 52-0.

We'll see how Cuero does... we play balls to the walls until halftime and start mixing the starters with second stringers in the third qt if we have a big enough lead... we trying not to run it up....

But sometimes you can't help it like last year scoring 42 before the half three separate times...

I thought of them from a few years back when I would see their scores in the 50's and 60's every week against weak competition im guessing.

I'll give ya a hint, it shouldn't be us. We have a TON of talent...on the first string. We have no depth. When we put in the second string guys, I doubt we will even sniff the endzone.

Dont count out wimberley, the offense averaged 45pts through the playoffs and we return just about everyone on offense.

Gilmer will probably lead the entire state with around 40ppg.

The key to a high scoring offense is having either a great defense or a terrible one.

Falfurrias 42 .... Port Isabel 9 I don't remember this??? I only remember them playing Fal when a certain player by the name of Crates or something like that. One game I remember was a game played in La Joya and was pouring that night. I thought Pena was still the coach and not Stumbaugh, who's 1st season was in 2000. I will need to check that out.

1. Canyon
2. Gilmer
3. Cuero
4. INGLESIDE-- surprise :D
5. Bellville

All will average around 40 ppg. Ingleside's my surprise team... they averaged 34 ppg last year and return 8 key offensive starters. Year three of Hesseltine's spread offense.
