New record set for season tickets
Texas football has set a new school record for season ticket sales with approximately 72,000 season tickets sold for the 2006 season, bettering the previous mark by more than 5,000. The UT Athletics Ticket Office also has announced those tickets have been shipped.
With the addition of more than 4,000 bleacher seats in the South end zone, capacity will increase to over 85,000. Tickets remain for four home games this year in which visiting teams have notified the ticket office they will not be using their full allotment, including Iowa State, Sam Houston State, Baylor and Oklahoma State. Those tickets will go on sale to the public on Monday, August 14. The possibility will also remain that other visitors' tickets may be returned later.
