Bridge City's,soon to be Senior, and a baseball pitcher, has Ulcerative Colitis and has been in Texas Children's Hospital for almost 3 weeks. He is a 17 year old, receiving Inline feeding from a tube-but is still losing weight. Thank you!

Have heard that he is slightly better! gained 2 pounds.

Derek Blacksher has been able to come home. He is still hooked to a feeder tube, but he is happy to be HOME.....Thanks friends!

I talked to Derek's Grandmother yesterday. Derek had dropped to 147# but now has gained back up to 157#. He usually weighs in at 175# Thank again for your concerns and support!

Old Cardinal, I would also like to inform you that one of the great football players from Port Isabel passway. The young man played on th 1994 Port Isabel. He wore the number 9 and was one the best safetys to come out of the Rio Grande Valley. He was playing for michgan when he became ill. It was later determined that he had cancer. He was a blazing speedster. We will miss him.

Old Cardinal, the player name from PI that pass away was Erick Galvan, what even made this worse, was our defense coordinator at Port Isabel Eliso Villeral pass away on the same day Erick did. Eliso was always checking up on Erick It is the first time that a body has been on public display at a school. This came at the request of the entire student body at Port Isabel High School. Even Coaches from the NFL were present.
