I think Everman and/or Burnet did.

barber's hill is expected to make the playoffs in their new 4a district and huffman is supposed to be right there w/ them...both of them jumped from 3a last year...

BH is picked second in the district, but Huffman is picked seventh. It will depend what district you're stuck in. BH and Huffman are in an incredibly weak district. Just a few miles over, they'd be in with Texas City, Friendswood and LaMarque, and they'd have no shot.

Huffman returns one starter on offense and three on defense and has a brand-new head coach (inheriting a team that went 6-4 and was manhandled in the first round). That's a tough draw regardless of who else is in the district.

Hutto could honestly do better in 4a than 3a looking at the austin schools. Austin doesent have any really good 4a schools. Look at Travis we beat them 60-7 last year and the year before we beat them like 36-18? and we did not even make the playoffs while they went 7-4 making the playoffs in there district. Pflugerville has some good ones, connally and hendrickson

Didn't Aledo go ape-chit on 4A in their first year up?

i know Celina went from a 16-0 state champ in 2a to a 13-1 team in 3a the next year. So its been done with lots of teams moving up

going 2A to 3A is not as big of a jump as 3A to 4A...

For Celina it isn't...

going by my formula it's a big move enough move...

What was it, 400 students as the 2A/3A cut off...

let's say half of those are girls, so you have 200 boys in the school...

Let's say half of those boys play football, so you have a 100 boys playing football, 100 to chose from...

Let's say 3A was maxed out at 900...

450 girls and 450 boys...

Half of those boys play football so you have 225 to chose from...

So at the bottom of 3A we'll just say for kicks that you have around 100 boys to chose from, and at the top you have 225 to chose from... that's 125 more...

May not be 'as' big of a move, but it is comparable...

(and of course these numbers are not accurate haha)

Aledo has advanced at least 3 rounds deep all 4 years that they have been 4a. I know they did the first 3 for certain and I am almost sure they did last fall also.

the move from 3a to 4a is tougher then 1a to 3a, 2a to 3a and 4a to 5a. The majority of highschool coaches will agree witht hat

Seems like any team that beats Cuero pays the price in going 4A. I guess all the towns north of I10 are growing, and south of that stay the same, or fall to 2A. I think it's awesome that Cuero has played some of the top teams in the state:
Brownwood
Ennis
SLC
Sealy

Gotta love those Gobblers!!

Isn't a little too early to speculate on the next realignment? We have not started the new cycle yet. No one knows what the numbers are going to be next time, except that Abilene Wylie will be 3A and Highland Park will be in 4A.

I would doubt Hutto would be placed in an AISD district...they'd likely be put in that loop w/the Pflugerville schools and Burnet and Lake Travis

I agree Matt. I would see the district going like this:

Pflugerville Connally
Pflugerville Hendrickson
Burnet
Manor
Austin Lake Travis
Hutto
Elgin
Taylor (I think they will move back as well)

:D :D

that would be a tough district ILS. I hope it doesnt turn out that way. Id like a Hutto,Manor,Elgin,Taylor,Del valle district myself haha :D
