I was down visiting family and friends that night. Was in Corpus for dinner with and old friend, her husband, and her parents earlier in the evening and thought I'd be stuck over there because of the ice on the road. Then some old buddies from back in Ingleside called and told me that they were pulling an all-nighter to play in the snow.

I was all over it.

Drove back to Ingleside over the Tula Lake Lift Bridge (less than 10 minutes before they shut it down for the night because of the ice) and the Portland causeway, going 20 mph the whole way, sliding all over the road to get back to Ingleside by 11:30 pm. Only took an hour to drive those 25 miles. :D
