baseball regional in wharton

this is the babe ruth tourney for 17-18 year olds.

i beleive that both wharton and the weimer areas have teams competing.

i live in wharton but i ain't going....i know this wharton's first game was against tri-county(weimar)

wharton won against weimar and now they play mississippi tonight...

tri county won this morning and now play tomm. wharton's team was extremely avrg. we could have beat them but we started all of our 17 year olds to get them playing time so they wouldnt feel bad.

our all-stars always end up going pretty far..our 15 years old won their tourny and now are heading up to lleveland i think thats how you spell it...

yes, wharton has been, and always will be a baseball town first....

many fathers and volunteers have worked hard so that this tradition can flourish.

behind every great summer baseball team are several volunteers that make it happen.

weimer team plays well.

wharton plays well.

nederland has tradition.

that's what makes these tourneys so exciting...


and throw in denham spriings..

but if anyone was there, what was your take on the game???

wharton vs nederland has been a summer time grudge match from way back...

wharton was so good that nederland expanded their attendance zone......more players....

and now wharton has also expanded its league boundary..

kinda takes away from the " wharton vs nederland " concept but.......times are changing......

still good summertime ballgames.....

This was a Bellville excuse, not a Bellville team. "Tri County" is not exclusively from Weimar. They draw players from about 6 counties. Some come from as far away as Brenham and Yoakum. "Wharton" is comprised of players from all over that vicinity. They usually have Wharton, El Campo, Boling, East Bernard and that area playing for them. It is good to see that Bellville players use their same old excuses no matter what uniform they put on.

last time i heard wharton was beating arkansas...which means they would play nederland again and would need to beat them 2 times...
