HUGE move for the Rangers. They lose quite a bit in the outfield, but they get a really big bat.

Carlos Lee to Rangers (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2532418)

I am ok with moving Cordero and Nix. Nix would have brought a lot more 2 years ago than now...but oh well. Mench is a great guy and good for the community...but he's too inconsistent.

Glad to see the Rangers getting out there and getting Lee. All I kept hearing was that the Twins would get him. GREAT JOB JOHN DANIELS TO TRY SOMETHING NEW!!!

I don't think the Rangers lost much at all. I love this move.

Mench was not progressing.

Nix has had opportunities galore to win an outfield position.

Cordero has been very inconsistent. Even the year he did well saving games, almost everyone was an adventure. You gotta give up something to get something.

The minor leager the Rangers are getting is supposed to be a stud, also.

Yeah, im not a Rangers fan. I knew they werent losing anything in Cordero, but I had always heard things about Mench and Nix, and they were both really good in MVP 2005 for the playstation. lol

apparently they didn't make their IT people aware of the move

man this is great, all the talk every night about the big players available and these different teams, never any mention of the rangers. great move, i agree i have thought mench has been way too inconsistent all year, and we don't even have a guy over 20 home runs yet, which is ridiculous. this lineup just got that much better, and we got rid of the most frustrating ranger ever, choke-o-cordero.

I thought the rangers needed more help with the starting rotation... If they can re-sign Lee in the offseason, this will be a good deal. I don't know if they players they traded were under contract through next year or not but to part with that much for a two month rental seems steep. The minor leaguer seems like a good acquisition, but you never know if they'll do it in the bigs...

all the players the rangers traded away have maxed their potential.. but the rangers got a perinial 30/100 guy, plus the brewer's top outfield prospect, and a pitcher with a strong arm, but needs to learn to pitch..

overall this was a good trade for both clubs because they both filled a need.. but i think this is a step forward for the rangers

Rangers really got the best of the trade.. Carlos Lee is a Great ball player but I would like them to add someone in the bullpen but everyones looking for pitching when there is none.

espn insider has reported that the rangers have also offered the orioles Hank Blalock, and top prospect Shortstop Joaquin Arias for Miguel Tejada and two other minor leaguers.. and that the rangers would prolly move tejada to third

of course this prolly won't happen but it would make for one hell of an infield
