View Full Version : The 3ADownlow Directory

So Bullaholic (the brains behind many things downlow) tossed around the idea that we compile a downlow directory of contact information for all posters. It would make communication easier between people...whether for m&g's or whatever might arise. Anyways here is the plan:

Ranger Mom, Pirate4State, and myself are asking that you send basic contact information (in a MS word document preferably) to an e-mail address that we have setup for the downlow.

aaadownlow@yahoo.com

At minimum, your name and e-mail address would be appreciated. If you want to include any phone numbers, website addresses (myspace, facebook, etc) and/or a picture you are more than welcome to you. I assure all that this information will be kept confidential and at no time will the directory be posted in public...to avoid potential spam calls/e-mails. The directory will be available upon request (either by PM to one of us or by e-mail to the above address) and we can pass along the information accordingly.

Please include your 3ADL name IN THE SUBJECT OF THE E-MAIL when you send us your information so that we know who to associate the information with.

Obviously this isn't anything mandatory, just trying to offer an additional way for members to be able to contact others when needed. Feel free to PM any of us if you have any questions.

Thanks guys and gals,

Forrest

My idea maybe, but it will Adidas' and others who do all the hard work. I just thought a directory with basic info would serve everyone during the season when they are trying to attend a M&G, setup some other special activity, or report scores. Cell phone nos. or pics can be especially useful in co-ordinating meetings at games.

Old Tiger

Could the powers that be make it apart of the forum like down there where is says "Contact Us" and "3A Down Low?"

It wouldn't be posted publically for viewing by all. As I said originally, we must protect people's information and don't want to run the risk of their contact info getting SPAM'd by people trolling the internet for this type of information. We haven't exactly come up with a full verification plan yet, but we will make that determination before releasing the information.

One alternative is that if somebody would like information from the list then they can say "hey I would like to get contact info for FoFo and then we send them just that person's contact info."

Obviously, this is a work in progress so we are open to suggestions on how to best ensure the security of the information.

If we have people that are skilled in making an online database that requires a password to access, that would be another option that we could definitely consider.

What if FoFo doesn't want that person to have their contact info?

If someone needed info, they could tell whoever is doing this. Then ask whoever they want to contact if it's alright for them to have their info.

Then why don't they just contact that person directly for the info. :p

Not a good idea to make it a clickable link. We have to respect people's wishes if they want to remain anonymous. There are a number of people on here who want that. We don't need to be giving out people's private info without their permission.

I agree with 66'. Only those posters submitting what personal info they want, voluntarily, to the link provided by Adidas in this thread should be made available. It should be understood by everyone submitting such info that it will be made available to all posters via the directory listing file, but not published to any other sources. I respect anyone's right to their privacy, that is why the submission is purely voluntary.

I understand where yall are coming from, but, most of us have built our own lists already. You really should get the person's permission first, and LHPM's point then becomes a good one. Why not just contact that person directly?

sinton66
07-27-2006, 07:54 PM
I guess my only concern is that it could be misused, but if yall want to do it, go for it.

I'd give yall my info. But honestly, I just don't trust any of you yet.

Here is the way I look at it...if you don't want anyone to have your information, then simply don't supply it.

For my part, I could really care less who on here has my cell phone number.

Yes, you could contact that person directly, but there has been times at games, or on the way to games, that I wished I had a particular person's cell number.

If I could call someone that I knew to be on the board to access it and get it for me, then that problem would be solved.

Heck, I don't have a problem posting my email address and phone number right here!

You are an idiot. The 1A Roscoe Plowboys field is kept in better
condition than the rinky dink field in Snyder. Mustang Bowl is
continously ranked in the 10 ten stadiums in the state. You try
