That's right, I'll be a zebra. I am attending a meeting on tuesday with the corpus christi chapter and will get set up in the next few days to be on a crew for the upcoming year. Their website is ccfootballrefs.org, I will start out doing middle school games mostly during the week but might run the clock/or be chains crew for other games.

I'm 24 now and starting reffing high school basketball when I was 18.

I'm getting closer to reffing D1 basketball. It's fun. I think you'll enjoy it. I get asked to come out for football all the time, but I don't think I could do it. I'll still to basketball. And I'll stick to tailgating and being a coach from the stands.

Good luck.

I would encourage everybody to go officiate a sport for a few years. I called baseball for 4 years in Abilene and it was an absolute joy for me. I was asked to go do football but it just wasn't feasible with my schedule. I sure miss not doing baseball this year though...:(

Does anyone know any Chapters in the centex website? This would be some easy money.

Well, if you end up reffing a Port Isabel playoff game, as long as you call it down the middle you're ok in my book.

Historically, though.....that's usually not the case.

Congrats AJ and good luck. If my work schedule would allow it, I'd love to become a referee. Anyways, make sure to post a picture in when you get your stripes.

Congrats, AJ. I reffed soccer games from age 14 through 18. I had a great time, and there's nothing better than getting involved with the kids. I kind of want to go back now, but I just don't have the time anymore.
